Dog breeders are varied, not only by the types of dogs they breed, but the quality of the dogs, the breeding environment, and the general health of the dogs in their care.

Check out their websites, but also use due diligence, including searching for reviews and even visiting the facilities.

Breeders for a specific breed of dog may also be found in the Dog Breeds section of this directory. In some cases these breeders have been recognized by the AKC or the breed club for that breed.
