Working Group Breed Sites

Listed below are the associations/clubs that have been officially recognized by the American Kennel Club as the Parent Organization for the breeds in the Working group. These sites have a great amount of information specific to the breed they represent, including history, standards, upcoming events, and much more.

If you are interested in a particular breed in the Working group, we highly recommend you visit the site of that breed’s parent organization, and read up as much as you can on them.

Akita Club of America

The Akita Club of America is the only National Akita Breed Club which is recognized and sanctioned by the AKC. The main objectives of the Akita Club of America are the preservation and protection of the breed and improvement of the character and conformation of the Akitas as described in the official breed standard. Malamute Club of America

Alaskan Malamute Club of America

The Alaskan Malamute Club of America is the American Kennel Club (AKC) National Breed Club for the Alaskan Malamute. The club has as its main goal the betterment of the breed, and asserts that its membership has an obligation to the Alaskan Malamute breed. Mountain Dog Club of America

Bernese Mountain Dog Club of America

As the official website for the Bernese Mountain Dog, we are dedicated to preserve and protect the Bernese Mountain Dog (Berner Sennenhund), and promote understanding and appreciation of the breed.
